Workwear for security teams and door supervisors
Uniform that reads as authority at a distance, identifies the person, and holds up to night shifts outdoors.
Get a quote for securitySecurity clothing is doing a job no other trade's clothing does: it has to be recognised as a uniform from across a car park, by someone who has never seen your company before. That means contrast, a consistent silhouette and lettering that is legible at distance — a small chest logo is not enough on its own, and a back panel usually is.
The second requirement is identification. On most sites the individual needs to be identifiable as well as the company, which is where name tapes, role titles and SIA badge holders come in. Settle how that is done before ordering, because retro-fitting it to garments already embroidered is expensive.
The practical constraint is static outdoor work in the cold. Someone standing still at 2am loses heat far faster than a tradesperson working, so the outer layer wants to be warmer than instinct suggests — a padded jacket rather than a softshell for night work.
What this trade needs
Polo shirts or wicking tops
Base uniform layer, in a colour that reads as security rather than as leisurewear.
Softshell jacket with back lettering
The everyday outer layer. The back panel is where the word SECURITY earns its place.
Padded or waterproof jacket
For static night and winter work, where standing still is the whole shift.
Hi-vis over-vest
For traffic marshalling or event work where visibility is added on top of the uniform.
Smart trousers or cargo trousers
Depending on whether the contract is corporate reception or event and night-time economy.
The standards that apply
These are garment standards, not site rules. A standard belongs to the individual item and its certificate — so when a garment is specified for you, the certificate is what proves it, not a line on a web page.
- EN ISO 20471
- High-visibility clothing, where the role includes traffic or vehicle marshalling.
Settle this before you order
- Whether individuals need to be identifiable as well as the company — names, roles or badge holders.
- What the back panel says, and in what size: this is the decision that makes a security uniform work.
- Whether any role needs hi-vis over the top, which changes the garment order.
- Corporate or night-time economy contracts, because the right trouser differs.

You do not need all of them. Trade, head count and where the logo goes is enough to get a useful quote back.
