Workwear for garages, workshops and mobile technicians
Oil-tolerant workshop kit, plus something clean enough to hand a customer their keys in.

In the workshop the clothing meets oil, brake dust and hot components, and dark colours and a fabric that releases grease are worth more than anything else. On the counter the clothing meets the customer, and there a clean branded polo or shirt is doing the work.
Firms that treat those as one garment end up with a technician in a greasy shirt explaining an invoice. The cheaper fix is usually a second, lighter layer for the people who go front-of-house — not a whole separate uniform, just enough that the person handing over keys is presentable.
Mobile technicians are a third case again. Their clothing is seen on a customer's driveway with no building around it, which makes the logo the only branding present. It is worth getting that one right.
What this trade needs
Coveralls or bib-and-brace
Full cover for engine and underbody work, and the garment that takes the damage instead of the one underneath.
Dark polo shirts
The workshop everyday layer. Dark because oil shows.
Work trousers with tool pockets
For technicians who move between bays rather than staying under one lift.
A front-of-house polo or shirt
Kept clean for the counter. The one that the customer actually reads your name off.
Safety footwear with oil-resistant soles
A workshop floor is the specific thing an oil-resistant sole is for.
The standards that apply
These are garment standards, not site rules. A standard belongs to the individual item and its certificate — so when a garment is specified for you, the certificate is what proves it, not a line on a web page.
- EN ISO 20345
- Safety footwear. The oil-resistance and slip markings are the relevant part in a workshop.
Settle this before you order
- Whether you want coveralls, bib-and-brace or trousers — this is mostly a preference, and worth asking the team.
- Who goes front-of-house, so they get a layer that stays clean.
- Whether mobile technicians need a different spec from workshop staff.
- Embroidery rather than print on anything washed hot and often.
