Who is responsible for your data
The Workwear NW Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 17230494, trading as ItsWorkwear.co.uk, of 116 Bury New Road, Manchester, M8 8EB, is the data controller. For anything in this notice, write to info@theworkwear.co.uk.
What this site collects
If you send an enquiry: your name and email address, and — if you choose to give them — your company name, phone number, trade, head count and whatever you write in the message box.
If you place an order: your email address, the items you bought, and the delivery and billing address you give at checkout.
We never see your card details. Payment happens on our payment provider's own hosted page, not on this site. Your card number is never sent to, processed by or stored on our server. What comes back to us is a confirmation that the payment succeeded, and the last four digits for matching an order to a refund.
There is no account to create and no password to store. Your basket is kept in your own browser until you check out, not on our server.
Why, and on what basis
Enquiries: to answer you and to quote for the work. You tick a box to confirm that, which is your consent; the same details are also necessary for the legitimate interest of responding to a business enquiry you started.
Orders: to take payment, deliver the goods and handle returns — that is performance of the contract between us. Keeping the order record afterwards is a legal obligation, because transaction records have to be retained for tax purposes.
We do not add you to a mailing list, and there is no newsletter to be added to.
Where it goes
Enquiries are sent to us over Telegram, emailed to our inbox, and written to a log file stored outside the public part of the web server. There are three routes because mail can fail silently on shared hosting, and an enquiry nobody answered because the email vanished is worse than one we can recover.
Orders are stored in a database on the same server, outside the public part of the site, and the payment itself is handled by our payment provider under their own privacy notice. Your delivery address goes to the carrier so the parcel can arrive, and to our supplier where they despatch it to you directly.
Nothing is sent to an advertising network or a CRM, and there is no third-party form service in between.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics or advertising scripts, so there is no cookie banner to dismiss. The typefaces are served by Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from Google and Google sees your IP address in doing so; no cookie is set by that request.
How long it is kept
Enquiries are kept for up to 24 months so that we can pick up a conversation about a quote, then deleted. If you ask us to delete yours sooner we will, and that includes the log entry rather than only the email.
Order records are kept for six years, because tax law requires transaction records to be retained for that long. That part we cannot delete on request, though we can remove anything in the record that is not needed for it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or withdraw your consent. Email info@theworkwear.co.uk and we will act within one month. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled it you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Server logs
The hosting provider keeps standard web server logs, including IP addresses, as a normal part of running a web server and detecting abuse. We do not use those logs to build any profile of visitors.
